Once the leather and the inner structure are all prepared, it’s time to move to the assembly line. It’s like building with building blocks, piecing together the scattered components to form a complete jewelry box. There are six stations on the entire line, each with its own specialty. The workers work in perfect harmony, without any mistakes.
Step by step assembly, not a single detail is overlooked
The first station is to wrap the body with leather. The workers wear white gloves and take the cut leather, aligning it with the thin positioning line at the edge of the body, and pushing it down with a rubber roller with small bumps. The small bumps on the roller can push out the air between the leather and the body, making them stick tightly together. The team leader checks with a ruler from time to time. If the edge of the leather doesn’t align with the crease of the body, even by a little, it has to be dismantled and redone.
At the second station, it’s time to install the lining. It’s like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. The workers use magnetic molds to steadily place the lining in the groove of the body. Then, they need to use a special silicone head to press it, with the force just right to keep the lining fixed without damaging the velvet on the surface. If any corner is not properly inserted, it will shine through, and then it must be redone.
The third station is to install the hardware, like hinges. The workers hold the pneumatic screwdriver with a fixed force. They stop after three strokes when tightening the screws. If the force is too small, the hinge is likely to shake; if it’s too strong, it might crack the wood or metal. Moreover, this screwdriver is quite intelligent. Once the force exceeds the limit, it will automatically stop,生怕 making any mistake.
Multiple inspections， ensuring good performance and sturdiness
The fourth station is specifically for testing the suction force of the lid. As soon as the lid approaches the body， the machine knows if the suction force is sufficient. If the suction force is too small， the lid is likely to pop open by itself； if it’s too large， it might catch your hand when closing. If it’s not suitable， it will be picked out， and the position of the magnet will be adjusted until it’s just right.
The fifth station is more strict and tests the durability of the jewelry box. The machine holds the lid and can open and close it 60 times in a minute， just like how we usually handle things. After 2000 cycles of opening and closing， it needs to carefully check if the hinges are worn out or if the seams are fraying. As long as there is any problem， this box cannot pass the test. After all， it must be ensured that it won’t have any issues for several years.
The final station is to apply the logo to the box. Using a laser to burn the mark on the bottom of the box， the mark is neither too deep nor too shallow， just right to be clearly visible without damaging the texture of the leather. Moreover， the marking information for each box will be saved， and it can be checked later if needed.
When the last box comes out from the end of the assembly line， this entire process is completed. Although this line seems cold and unfeeling， each step hides the workers’ meticulousness. It is this attention to detail that allows each jewelry box to be both beautiful and functional， and to safely hold those precious jewelry items.
