The terms get used loosely, but they change who does the design work. Materials and construction, from the bench
A custom organizer is a layering job: a rigid box or soft-shell form, a flocked or fabric-lined insert die-cut to your compartment map, stitching or glue for the wrap, and a closure — zipper, magnet or clasp. The MOQ you must plan around
This is the number most first-time buyers underestimate. Our honest floor is 500 pieces per single style and single color. If an order is below that MOQ, we do not take on prototyping or sampling — the die-cutting, printing plates and flocking setup each carry fixed costs, and below 500 pieces the per-unit math simply does not work for either side. That is not a negotiation tactic; it is the production reality of custom organizers. If you are still validating a design, start with one style and one color at the 500 minimum rather than splitting a small run across several versions. Certifications: available on request
For organizers, the common asks are CE, RoHS, and FCC — usually driven by the market you sell into rather than the box itself. We handle these on request: tell us the destination and we arrange the relevant compliance documentation for the materials and any electronic components (for example a lit or USB-charging case). We do not pre-print certificate numbers on every unit, because the right standard depends on where the product ships. State the target market in your inquiry and we will confirm what applies.
Sampling and lead time, realistically
After your artwork and dieline are confirmed, a physical sample typically takes 7–12 days. Mass production for a 500–3,000 piece run runs about 20–30 days, plus shipping. Rush slots exist but compress the sampling window at the cost of revision time, so build the sample stage into your calendar rather than skipping it. A correct sample is cheaper than a container of the wrong insert.
