How Custom Jewelry Boxes Are Made (OEM/ODM Process)

Custom jewelry boxes are a supply-chain job too

Like our jewelry line, jewelry organizers and boxes are built through a coordinated network — not a single factory. FSC CRAFT owns the design, final assembly, QC and export while specialized shops handle cutting and component work.

1. Material sourcing

We start from the market: velvet, PU leather, acrylic, wood or paper-board are sourced to match your brand's price and feel.

2. Dieline & tooling design

Our team designs the dieline (the flat template) and any custom inserts. Good tooling is what makes a box fold crisply and protect its contents.

3. Cutting

The dieline goes to specialized cutting workshops that produce shell pieces at consistent accuracy. Leather and PU skins are die-cut into strips and panels on hydraulic presses, and board stock runs across a long-bed press so every shell folds from the same shape.

4. Sub-assembly at affiliated workshops

Semi-finished parts — hinges, trays, inserts, foam — are routed to affiliated workshops that focus on those components.

5. Final assembly (FSC CRAFT)

Everything returns to us for assembly : gluing, stitching, inserting trays, and branding. This is where we control the finish.

6. Quality inspection

We check alignment, closure, material defects and print quality before packing.

OEM & ODM options

Capacity & compliance

Boxes and organizers follow a different MOQ logic than jewelry. Custom jewelry boxes require a minimum of 500 pieces per single style and single color , and we do not accept sample or prototype orders below that threshold. The reason is structural: every box shape needs a custom cutting die , our material suppliers sell by volume so a tiny run can't cover even the minimum material purchase, and our workshop partners won't take an order that small. For stainless steel jewelry pieces, by contrast, our typical minimum is 100 pieces per design (lower-value items need a higher minimum). Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order for custom jewelry boxes?

500 pieces per single style and single color. We do not take sample or prototype orders below that figure, because every new box shape needs a custom cutting die and our material suppliers sell by volume. A tiny run cannot even cover the minimum material purchase, and the cutting workshops will not accept an order that small.

Can I see the box before committing to 500 pieces?

You can, without placing an order. Start from the free dieline templates to see how a shape folds, or ask about a stock design that already exists. A physical sample of a brand-new structure is the one thing we cannot produce below the minimum, because the die has to be cut first.

How long does sampling take?

Around 20 days for a box line — a little longer than our metal jewelry sampling because the dieline, structure and materials need more proofing. The clock starts when the dieline is confirmed, not when you first ask, so a shape that changes twice will push the sample out.

Should I choose OEM or ODM?

OEM means you bring the design and we build it; ODM means we design it and you put your brand on it. If you have drawings or a reference product, take OEM. If you have a price point and a market in mind rather than a drawing, ODM gets you to a shippable product faster.

Why does a small box order cost so much more per unit?

Three things stack up: the cutting die is a one-off cost, the material comes with its own minimum purchase quantity, and the component shops set up a line for hinges, trays and foam. Spread those across a larger order and the unit price falls quickly.

What paperwork comes with the shipment?

CE, RoHS and FCC documentation is arranged per order for the destination market rather than issued as a generic certificate. Tell us where you sell and we confirm what applies.

Before you place a box order

Everything above works only if the details are pinned down first:

• Which processes stay in the factory, and which are sent to specialist workshops?
• What is the die charge, and is it credited back once you reach volume?
• Which material and finish, and does the supplier name match the certificate?
• What are the packing, print and branding requirements for the destination market?
